Double Book Recommendation

Today I will be doing another book recommendation! I will be recommending a book I am currently reading written by Jennifer L. Holm. And another book also written by her. This book is called Penny from Heaven. The other book is called  Turtle in Paridise. Penny from Heaven is a historical fiction book written in the point of view of an 11 year old girl. Her name is Penny. Turtle in Paradise is also historical fiction and in the point of view of a girl named Turtle.

These are the different book covers for Penny from Heaven:

Back cover summary of Penny from Heaven:

It’s 1953 and eleven-year-old Penny dreams of a summer of butter pecan ice cream, swimming, and baseball. But nothing’s that simple. For starters, she can’t go swimming because her mother’s afraid she’ll catch polio at the pool. To make matters worse, her favorite uncle is living in a car. Her mommy cries every time her father’s name is mentioned. And the two sides of the family aren’t speaking to each other! On top of it all, Penny’s mother is dating the milkman. When it rains it sure dues rain, but Penny’s learning that, like the song says … even the darkest clouds may contain pennies from heaven.

Summary of Turtle in Paradise:

11 year old,Turtle, is forced to spend the summer at her aunts house in Key West. It takes place in the great depression in 1935. Her cousins have made a little crew called the diaper gang because they make a little money babysitting and changing diapers. This is based off a true story and in the back of the book you can see old pictures of the original diaper gang.

I hope you read these books they are really good. I’d rate them four and a half stars. Sorry for a long post. Also sorry hat I couldn’t insert the pictures.correctly because I’m posting from my Kindle.
